Electrical Engineer Needed
Sturgill Engineering, PA is seeking a talented and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our growing team in Lexington, NC.
We are looking for an engineer who enjoys solving problems, working collaboratively, and developing practical, high-quality electrical designs for a variety of projects. At Sturgill Engineering, PA, you’ll have the opportunity to work directly with clients, architects, contractors, and fellow engineers while contributing to projects from initial concept through construction.

What You’ll Do:
As an Electrical Engineer with Sturgill Engineering, you will assist with the planning, design, coordination, and construction administration of electrical systems for commercial / industrial / institutional / municipal projects.
Responsibilities
- Design electrical power distribution systems
- Develop interior and exterior lighting designs
- Prepare electrical plans, specifications, and construction documents
- Perform electrical load calculations
- Design emergency and standby power systems
- Assist with fire alarm, communications, and low-voltage system coordination
- Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, structural, and civil disciplines
- Review shop drawings and contractor submittals
- Respond to RFIs and assist with construction administration
- Conduct site visits and field observations
- Assist with project cost estimates and equipment selections
- Communicate with clients, contractors, utility providers, and project team members
- Ensure designs comply with applicable electrical codes, building codes, and industry standards
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related engineering discipline
- Working knowledge of electrical engineering principles and design practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and project deadlines
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Qualifications
- [2–5+ years] of electrical design experience
- EIT certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit
- Experience with electrical design and calculation software
- Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Knowledge of lighting calculations and energy-code requirements
